NASHVILLE GOURMET BURGER CHALLENGE #NGCBURGER Named Preferred Qualifier for 2019 World Food Championships
[ANTIOCH, TN]., Over 1,500 chefs, home cooks and pro-traveling teams will meet in Dallas, Texas this October for the culinary battle of their lives and a shot at the biggest payout in Food Sport history –– a $350,000 prize purse. Among the field of competitors for the 8th Annual World Food Championships (WFC) will be the winner of the NASHVILLE GOURMET BURGER CHALLENGE #NGCBURGER.
“We are expecting more than 500 competitive teams this year, a makeup of chefs, home cooks and pro-travel teams from around the globe,” said Mike McCloud, the CEO and President of WFC.
Competitors will prepare food on-site in timed events that include preparation, speed, signature recipes and presentation. Next, the ultimate taste test will take place in front of certified Food Sport judges using WFC’s E.A.T.™ Methodology. The 2019 championship categories include Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chef, Chili, Dessert, Recipe, Sandwich, Seafood, and Steak.
As an official qualifying event for WFC, NASHVILLE GOURMET BURGER CHALLENGE #NGCBURGER will award ONE (1) Golden Ticket to its winners making them eligible to compete in the "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN COOK?" NASHVILLE GOURMET BURGER CHALLENGE category being held in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 16 - 20.
